TERMS AND CONDITIONS
The following terms and conditions apply to all tuition services provided by Amy Bew, business name Amy the English Tutor, and are effective from 1st September 2025. Amy the English Tutor reserves the right to alter these terms and conditions. If they are changed, parents/carers/clients will be notified in writing.
For students under the age of 18, a parent or legal guardian must provide consent and agree to the following terms and conditions on behalf of the student.
Ahead of commencing tuition, you must agree to comply with the following terms and conditions.
Before your first session, specific terms and conditions will be sent to you depending on your chosen form of tuition, as these vary slightly according to the nature of the tuition e.g. one-to-one or group; online or in person.
General Terms and Conditions Applying to All Clients
​Payment
After agreeing to a mutually convenient time and date, a tuition agreement and invoice will be sent to you by email. To secure the agreed sessions, payment should be made by Direct Debit. Amy the English Tutor’s bank details will be on the invoice. Tuition will not go ahead unless it has been paid for in advance of the session.

Pricing

All prices are correct as of September 2025. Prices are subject to change. Where prices change, clients will be given 4 weeks' notice in writing.
Cancellation Policy
To cancel or reschedule a session, written notice must be provided via email to contact@amytheenglishtutor.com at least 48 hours before the scheduled session.
Refunds/rescheduling depends on the type of tuition.
Termination Policy
Both parties reserve the right to terminate the tuition agreement by providing 14 days' notice via email to contact@amytheenglishtutor.com .
Groups
These forms of tuition require two or more students to sign up. If the minimum number of students do not sign up, the time will be offered as an 1-to-1 slot (normal 1-to-1 rates apply), but can/will revert back to a group slot if/when a second student signs up.
General Conduct
Students are expected to engage with all activities/tasks during a tuition session.
Students are expected to behave respectfully at all times. If a student behaves in a manner deemed inappropriate or disrespectful, Amy the English Tutor reserves the right to end the session, or, in the case of a group session, ask the student to leave. In the event of persistent or serious misconduct, the contract will be terminated, and a refund will not be provided.
Holidays

All tuition will continue over school holidays.
Tuition will not take place on bank holidays including, but not limited to, Christmas Day, Boxing Day, New Year’s Day, Good Friday, Easter Monday, both May bank holiday Mondays, and August bank holiday Monday. Tuition will also not take place on Christmas Eve.
Tuition will not take place on religious holidays which are observed by the student e.g. Ramadan or Diwali. Parents/carers are kindly requested to inform Amy the English Tutor if the student is observing a religious holiday and we will reschedule.
Where a student is going away on holiday, parents/carers are responsible for notifying Amy the English Tutor via email, at least four weeks in advance. This will allow time for the invoice to be amended and to prevent cancellation charges.

Student's Needs and Medical Conditions

Parents/carers are responsible for informing Amy the English Tutor of any special educational needs or medical conditions affecting the student which may have an impact on tuition.

Limitation of Liability
Amy the English Tutor will endeavour to provide the student with the best possible tuition and do everything in her power to support them in making progress. However, as some circumstances are outside of the control of tuition, Amy the English Tutor cannot guarantee a certain grade, mark, or level of progress for any student.
Intellectual Property
All materials used during tuition have been created by Amy the English Tutor, including courses, worksheets, slideshows, and any other learning resources, and are therefore the intellectual property of Amy the English Tutor. They are for the student’s personal use only and should not be duplicated, shared, or posted online by the student.
