INDIVIDUAL TUITION

This is the most bespoke programme of tuition available. I tailor each 55-minute session according to the student’s wishes and needs. This could mean studying a set text, or may be skills-based. The benefits of 1-to-1 tuition is the immediate feedback the student receives within the lesson itself, and the adaptive teaching approach used to address misunderstandings.

Pricing for 1-to-1 tuition:

Daytime tuition (sessions starting between 9am-3pm): £40 per session

Evening tuition (sessions starting between 4pm-7pm): £50 per session

GROUP TUITION

Current research indicates that group tuition has identical benefits to 1-to-1 tuition: students participating in 1-to-1 tuition make 5 months progress, and participants of group tuition make 4 months (Education Endowment Foundation, 2021). 

 

Group tuition allows students to practise their oracy skills - a fundamental in improving their writing - while promoting the idea that English, or any form of learning, can be a social and exciting experience. Group sessions are still incredibly bespoke and meaningful, as I take care to ensure students are grouped according to similar needs. 

 

Group tuition is organised according to year group.  

 

All group sessions are £25 for 55 minutes.

MARKING

As an experienced GCSE examiner for two of the main exam boards, I am an accurate and consistent marker. Whether or not you are an existing client, I can offer ad-hoc support by marking past papers or individual essays. I will provide detailed feedback, celebrating the successes of the response, and identify key areas for improvement with advice on what to do next. Where appropriate, I will offer a mark in accordance with the mark scheme (GCSE and A-level only).

  • One essay question (e.g. GCSE 'An Inspector Calls'; A-level 'Othello') - £15.00
